Larry Albukerk
Larry is an expert on private secondary transactions of pre-IPO, venture-backed technology companies. With 25+ years’ experience founding, managing, advising, brokering securities of and investing in, hundreds of private, venture-backed companies, Larry has both a depth of knowledge and network of buyers and sellers that is unmatched.
Since becoming a licensed securities representative in 2009, Larry has facilitated approximately $1.5 billion of pre-IPO stock sales across 800+ transactions and 100+ companies.
Prior to his brokerage work, Larry launched an investment fund advisory business. Inspired by his experience as the founder and CEO of venture-backed startups with highly concentrated and illiquid wealth, he created 5 private company exchange funds representing 120 companies and over 250 founders. The exchange funds pooled small portions of founders’ equity with the goal to achieve liquidity and diversification upon exits. Since 2010 Larry has only created and managed traditional special purpose private equity funds.
In the 1990s, Larry was the founder and CEO of Visible Interactive, a mobile computing media company that partnered with Apple, the Smithsonian, Sony and Disney, and founder of Basement.com, an Idealab-backed pioneer of online reverse auctioneering for consumer products.
Separately, Larry has licensed and sold mobile technology patents, including one of the earliest cited patents for location-based services for which he was the primary inventor.
Larry earned an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis where he was the kicker for the football team. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 registrations and is a registered representative of Frontier Solutions, LLC.
Larry lives in San Francisco with his wife and three kids. He serves on the Challenged Athletes Foundation NorCal Advisory Committee, is an avid cyclist, skier and pickleball player.
